I obtained my Master's of Arts Degree in Adolescent English Education from SUNY College at Old Westbury where my GPA was a 3.9. My papers were chosen for multiple conferences where I was able to network and learn a variety of new information that has equipped me to effectively teach students of all ages. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in English Literature and Writing/Communications from Siena College with a GPA of 3.5. While there, I completed internships in Public Relations and Writing/Editing/High School Curriculum.
Experience
I have taken multiple courses in editing, peer editing, and the psychology of helping students succeed. My Education courses have helped me develop a strong educational philosophy which makes it my passion to help students succeed. By differentiating instruction and using many methods, I am able to help all learners. As a Teacher's Assistant, I teach students and assist teachers with their work every day. I work one-on-one with students and am comfortable developing a positive rapport with them and helping them reach beyond their goals. I capitalize on their strengths and target their weaknesses so they can improve and become confident, lifelong learners.
