I earned my bachelor's degree in Psychology from Stony Brook University, and went on to earn my master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University's Teachers College. I'll be pursuing my doctorate in the near future. I have more than six years of experience as a tutor, working with students in a variety of settings. I have the most experience tutoring in social sciences, such as sociology and psychology, English, and biology. I am available to tutor in a wide variety of subjects, including math, a number of science subjects, reading and writing, and many more subjects, from elementary school up through graduate level classes like statistics. I have also been successful tutoring students who are preparing for standardized exams such as the PSAT, SAT, ACT, GRE, and many others. I have learned to adjust my style of tutoring for each student, based on their specific strengths. If a student needs to actually do things, I will provide them with many hands-on materials and have them learn by talking me through the steps they are taking. I empower each student and make sure they are confident in their unique learning styles. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy yoga, running, bike riding, and playing guitar.
