Experiences: Certified teacher for birth - sixth grade in the state of New York. Although I do not have much tutoring experience, I have worked with the children that I nanny for do summer ELA workbooks. I help these to children catch up from where they might have struggled during the school year so that they are ready to begin the next school year. I student taught in a kindergarten class for 7 weeks, a first grade class for 6 weeks, and a fourth grade class for 5 weeks. Before that I had over 200 hours of teaching experience in a variety of classrooms. I really want to be a tutor because I love helping children overcome difficulties that they are having. As a teacher, that is what I am supposed to be doing in the classroom, but for those students who need extra attention to learn the material, I love spending that extra time with them.

Hobbies

I started dancing when I was three years old and fell in love with it immediately. No matter how busy my schedule can get, I always find time to get to a dance class. Dancing is a way that I can relax and have some "me" time. Horseback riding is another one of those things that relaxes me. While at Hofstra, I was on the equestrian team and had a blast! No matter how much studying I had to do or other work, I always loved getting up before the sun on Sunday mornings to go to a competition. I also enjoy music, skiing, being active, and enjoying the company of my friends
