I am truly enthusiastic about teaching mathematics! I received my bachelor's degree from Molloy College, and my master's degree from Queens College. I can work with students ranging from elementary schoolers to high school students. I have a great deal of tutoring experience from time spent working one-on-one with students who need math help. I am a math tutor for the Syosset Central School District at H.B. Thompson Middle School, where I tutor 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students. I also work with a home tutoring program that allows me to help home-bound students improve their math skills. I get lesson plans and details from their math teachers, so I can meet them on their level and help them put together the parts of the puzzle they're struggling with. I can also help students with preparation for the math sections of standardized and college placement tests. As a tutor, I stay grounded, and I have an easy laugh. I try to make my students feel relaxed while we work together. It is important to me that the student enjoy math tutoring as much as I do. I love watching the "Aha!" moment occur in my students, and I take pride in having helped them toward reaching that moment. When I'm not following my passion for education, I love to cook, and I stay fit by swimming.
