Previous Experience: I began tutoring in high school through our school's chapter of the National Honor Society. As a requirement of my college's education program, I have spent over twenty hours in two area public schools as a tutor in Language Arts; these schools are Jonas Salk Middle School in Levittown and the Summit School, a high school for children with learning disabilities in Queens. Well, this is the fun part! Basically, I want to become a tutor because teaching is my passion. I have had a love of learning all my life, and that accompanied with my drive to empower young people is what drives me to pursue this field. The few truly great teachers in my life were not only individuals that helped me get a good grade, but were the ones who showed me that my future truly mattered on an individual level. If I can inspire just one person to feel more confident in themselves and their abilities through the knowledge I share with them, then I believe I've truly paid it forward! Side-note: Local tutoring is what would be best for me.
